Prestige Handbag Company was run by Nicholas Bonasera and his partner David Cyks. Nicholas Bonsera's granddaughter states the company was working between the 1950s and the 1970s. Their showroom was on 33rd Street and Broadway in New York.

November 21, 1959 New York Times carried on page 37 an announcement of a lease taken by Prestige Handbag Co. in 38 W. 32nd Street building. This was likely the manufacturing location.

Handbags & Accessories December 1959, pages 4-5 included a list of the 1960 members of the National Authority for the Ladies Handbag Industry, including Prestige Handbag Co. 1960NationalAuthorityMembers

New York Times May 26, 1974 carries a large display ad on page 369, listing finished bags, leather, ornaments and machinery of the Prestige Handbag Co., auctioned by order of the Supreme Court, New York County, New York. Auction of this type were usually done to resolve bankruptcy cases. The 1.000 bags sold at the sale were described as "retailing from $60 to $95. All current styles in leather & suede. Large quantities of leather such as calf, cobreta, suede skivers."
