Tano Madrid The "Out of the Bag" column in the June 1961 issue of "Handbags & Accessories" included this tidbit. (page 55) "GOOD LUCK ... to Ernie Kosow in his new position as south-east sales representative for Kadin Bros. Ditto to Low Ash, who, in addition to representing Tano, Inc. has taken on the Duchess Handbag Line." B00193: Tano Madrid Black leather and tapestry handbag in rich shades of walnut brown, rose pink, and beige. The front of the bag has the black leather pull-tab that assists in the opening. The silver metal frame is patinated in gunmetal gray, and there is some a lightning of the area of the frame most often handled. The interior is fully lined in spotless black faille and marked in gold "Tano of Madrid Made in Spain." The interior features two large open pockets. A large metal zip pocket forms the front surface of one of the pockets. A matching tapestry coin purse is included. Excellent condition inside and out. Measures 11 1/2 x 3 x 8 in. with a 12" handle. SOLD for $76.50 in 2002 A00560: If you need the bag perfect for your color block wardrobe, this architectural shiny burnt orange in black Lucite bag would be perfect. It is by Tano of Spain circa 1960. The double arched handles latch with a pair of huge hidden pressure snaps. Outer side gussets of the bag appeared to be leather. The interior is completely clad in black vinyl, with a small metal zip pocket and an expanding open pocket. Convertible hand or shoulder bag with a 40 in. strap that can be affixed to fittings that fold inside. Some fine surface scratching, otherwise perfect condition. Measures 10 ¾ x 1 ¾ x 8 ½ inches.
