Stresses One Price Line

"The New York Bag Co. is featuring a versatile group to retail at $1.95. Showing bags in tailored and soft styles, this firm handles only one price line. The capeskin group includes roomy underarm and frame numbers in staple and high shades. Fine rib faille is another specialty of the house. Alligator grains and pigskin grains in saddle finish are particularly good in suit styles.
Good sized bags in the "patent" family are shown in the new Patent-One. This synthetic material has a fine high gloss and works up into tailored and pouch bags with equal success."

This full page ad on page 9 of the July 1947 issue of Handbags Illustrated heralds the return of 100% Top-Grain leather to the bags for Fall. Wartime materials restrictions limited the use of the best leathers for war use, so this was a sign of the return to normalcy.
