This sculptural Corde bag was featured in Mercury Handbags July 1947 ad on page 54 of "Handbags Illustrated." It utilized the popular rayon corde' so widely seen in wartime bags, but it's Art Moderne flair is new. Labels carrying the Korday with a "K" and the Mercury figure are Mercury products.
