Location June 1942: Majestic Rayon Corporation Wartime manufacturing demanded changes in ways, means, and materials for handbag makers. For some suppliers, this was a boon. Majestic Rayon registered the Plexon trademark in February of 1942. The US Patent & Trademark Office defines Plexon as "thread coated with cellulosic material and used in packaging, weaving and other purposes. Necessity being the Mother of Invention,, Majestic set about immediately finding new and innovative ways to use this product as a substitute for materials whose use was now restricted to war uses.
