Lily-Bet
Filbert Imports
Palm Beach, Flordia

Lily-Bet designed fashionable resort wear bags in a variety of materials. Many of their bags feature hand painting or collage. My intuition is that the company may have functioned like china painters, either buying plain bags from companies like Stylecraft Miami StylecraftMiami, JR Florida JRJuliusResnick, embellishing them and affixing their own label OR buying bags from the same overseas sources and making their own custom alterations.

Evidence includes the unembellished Stylecraft of Miami bag 990369,

for sale at our retail site Bag Lady Emporium.com, identical but for painted rose and label to the Lily-Bet below!

H00013 Edit: Lily_Bet Palm Beach Embellished Briefcase Bag Cute as a bug Lily-Bet Palm Beach with Lucite briefcase style bag sports a hand painted pint rose on open side. The spotless white vinyl interior features a large open pocket, trimmed in gold braid that also adorns the edges of the expansion gussets. The woven Lily-Bet label is clear and present on the pocket’s front. Gold metal hardware sparkles. Unused condition inside & out, with just slight fogging covered by the painting and not obvious. Stylecraft Miami likely manufactured the bag itself with aftermarket embellishment by Lily-Bet. There is some paint from this process on one handle (see detail.) Measures an ample 6 ½ x 3 x 6 ¾” with double hinged 4 ¼” handles. Sold for $225.00 in 2009.
