Handle lock on molded box by llene
Ilene Bags is the name of a firm making molded plastic items to retail at $3. Currently this firm has an attractive box with double block divided top which opens lengthwise down the center. Two halves flip back to close, and bag automatically locks when handles are in place and bag is carried. The box may be had in all plastic colors including white. The firm is represented in New York by Carl Robertson.

B00361: Translucent Gray Swirl Acetate Handbag with painted pink flowers adorning the beveled edged double lids. Acetate is a lighter weight, thinner material than Lucite and is molded into shape. This bag is unmarked, but is made by Ilene (see marked example 980611 in Lucite Archives.) The hand decoration and unusual lids make this a desirable collectible bag. Excellent condition. Measures 6 1/8 x 4 3/4 x 3 1/2". SOLD

980611: Ilene of New York, London and Paris two door double handle reddish brown marbled acetate bag with rhinestone studded BUMBLE BEES embellishing both lids. Fully lined in tan moiré *SPOTLESS*! Very minor surface wear but really outstanding condition. Measures 6 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/2". SOLD
