Fred Haber's Son Joins Firm

"Fred Haber's son Bert, a recent graduate of Riverside Academy, has joined the Fred Haber organization, manufacturers of popular-priced bags."

The "What's New in Handbags" column of the same issue (page 78) included news about Fred Haber's Fall 1949 line. These styles retailed for $7.95.

"Double duty handbag and shopping bag. Upper sketch shows handbag compactly folded up with only the top zippered purse section visible with trim top handles. Other sketch shows how it unfolds to a full-size shopping bag with purse section remaining within finger-tip reach at top. Attractively boxed for individual selling. The 1950s
