Featured in the Back to School article on page 42 of the same issue was this Dorian vinyl bag. Style 530 wholesaled for $22.50 per dozen. It came in a wide variety of colors in patent, calf or reptile grained vinyl.

"A dressmaker pretty with striking pleated front has a top zipper and double handles. Make your patron happy by telling her of the brass monogram plaque on the front tab; by Dorian Bags Inc."

Betty Held's Out of the Bag gossip column included this news in "Handbag Buyer" June 1949, page 34.

"Hy Deutsch of Dorian Handbag returned by air on May 15, after a visit to Paris in search of new ideas. He looked up some long-lost cousins there and found thai they operate the largest handbag factory in Paris. Through their help he located many interesting sources of supply. The frame and lock ideas he found will be interpreted in the fall line. He also arranged for shipment of French antelope skins."
