This 1940's vintage Coronet Corde' Bag was recently auctioned for $28. The large clear carved lucite latch trim is very charactaristic of the time. It measures 9 " wide by 7" high and was lined in black tafetta. A coin purse and paper wrapped mirror were original equipment with the bag. Its woven label is shown at the top of the page.
Fall lines for 1947, stressing Back to School fashions, were featured in the July issue of Handbags Illustrated, including this unusual Coronet belted suede clutch. It was produced in a variety of Fall colors in Patent Vinyl for $57 per dozen or in calf leather for $10.50 each. (page 39)
