![]() Location August 1942: Coronet Handbags, Inc. Display ad August 1942 "Luggage & Leather Goods," page 54 ![]() This 1940's vintage Coronet Corde' Bag was recently auctioned for $28. The large clear carved lucite latch trim is very charactaristic of the time. It measures 9 " wide by 7" high and was lined in black tafetta. A coin purse and paper wrapped mirror were original equipment with the bag. Its woven label is shown at the top of the page. ![]() Fall lines for 1947, stressing Back to School fashions, were featured in the July issue of Handbags Illustrated, including this unusual Coronet belted suede clutch. It was produced in a variety of Fall colors in Patent Vinyl for $57 per dozen or in calf leather for $10.50 each.
