The 1960s

This half page ad in the February 1961 Handbags & Accessories surprised me! I had always believed this long, lean shape was a mid-50's Art Modern style. The term "Underarm" is also an unexpected flash from the past, as this was the term used for clutch bags in the 30s and 40s!
