Rare and wonderful Wilardy two tray bag has none of the boxiness often seen in Wilardy bags. The incised Wilardy logo on the interior hinge reads "Wilardy U S patented" and points to a date before 1954. The mirror on the inside of the top lid is missing but so is the dark adhesive discoloration so often all too obvious on this translucent Lucite. The condition is structurally perfect. The only defect is fogging of the lower front and lid. Measures 6 3/4 x 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. At the request of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and their President, Diane von Furstenberg, this Wilardy bag was photographed for their new book “American Fashion: Accessories.”
