Sweet little white acetate bag, perfect for summer or resort wear. The lid is embellished with seashells and hand-painted leaves. The envelope style lid has a simple pressure latch. The bag carries no makers mark, but the bottom reads "Made in USA," which likely indicates a late 50|s date. (Actually, after this bag was sold, I found a vintage ad for this bag, shells and all on page 29 of the May 1955 issue of Handbags & Accessories. So I am now quite sure of the attribution.
