An interesting study in industrial espionage, this signed Rialto bag, bears uncanny likeness to 2 Llewellyn bags in the Archives (960928 and Collector|s Bag).) I suspect, but cannot prove the Llewellyns were first and this is a later copy. But regardless, it|s a beauty! Pearly gunmetal gray body trimmed the equator with stamped metal band in an intertwined daisy pattern. The subtle differences between this clasp and the comparable Llewellyn is that Rialto uses a flattened lucite shape rather than the cylindrical rod used by Llewellyn. Beveled glass mirror with some aging is mounted inside the lid. A pair of brass spheres serve as a friction latch inside the lid. Four clear hemisphere feet. Three nickel sized areas of very slight fogging.you really have to LOOK! Double reverse curved handles. Excellent condition. Measures 8 1/2 x 5 x 5 1/4"." This item was part of the archives of the Bag Lady Emporium, originally in operation from 1996 through 2022 (Inventory ID 990803). It sold for $200.00. ![]() Related Pages: Lucite, RialtoProducts |
