The release of Vincent Minnelli|s "Kismet" in 1955 stimulated interest in Islamic design on fashion. The fabric of this stylish Pegi Paris fitted clutch is a prime example. The gold embellished printed cotton is framed at the top by a sparkling gold edge. A Rau F. Co. snap firmly closes the envelope flap and opens wide to a beige taffeta interior with a comb pocket behind the Pegi Paris mirror and a front pocket fitted for the unused matte finish gold compact with marked Pegi Paris puff and original sifter in its original padded wrapper. Pristine condition inside and out with minor aging to the mirror|s edges. Measures 7 x 2 x 4".
