A beautiful pale yellow La Mode guilloche’ enamel compact, made by Ripley & Gowan of Attelboro, Ma. in the 1930’s. The company was known for its elegant enamel pieces. This example features a loose powder compartment, center steel mirror, enclosing the rouge compartment in the lid. Both original puffs are included, but no rouge or powder is present. The case is marked in incised lettering. The interior finish on the powder door shows some wear and the are several rough areas on the mirror. The enamel is undamaged, but there are fine scratches to and bottom. Measures 2 ½” in diameter.
