The Meeker Company of Joplin, MO. is a great midwest leather goods maker spaning the period 1908-1959. This design has aspects of Art Deco in the tooled design but the size, shape and limited use of metal and nylon lining inclines me to a date during in WWII. The solid sculptural trunstyle latch opens to a spotless fully lined brown nylon interior with 5 divisions including one large center zip security pocket. A Meeker pocket mirror is included and abides in its own leather edged open pocket. The 1" wide leather handle pivots on decorative metal studs. Excellent unused condition with very slight waer to one back bottom corner from storage. Measures 10 x 3 x 5". with a 12" handle

This item was part of the archives of the Bag Lady Emporium, originally in operation from 1996 through 2022 (Inventory ID H00071).
