Unusual variation on the Corde| Crochet fiber bag, this example has a outer, oval open body. Its covered in corde| crochet, interwoven with black velvet ribbon. An inner latching purse is permanently attached within the open body. It carries a fabric tag reading " Hiawatha Tailored Handbag." The interior of the outer body and the latching center purse are fully lined in spotless black satin. The bag dates pre-1954, as the tag indicates its design was registered with the US Patent Office. Excellent condition. Measures 8 1/4 x 4 x 5 1/2" with an 11" chain handle.
