A masterful example of European Petite Point, this floral evening bag has everything going for it! The minute 48 stitches per inch detailing of the morning glories, foxglove and other realistically rendered garden favorites is really extraordinary. The bag is identical front and back. There is no maker|s mark, but I estimate the bag is ca. 1930. There is one worn area on the gusset under one hinge (see detail.) Fortunately, it|s not where isn|t very visible. The gold moire| interior is in excellent condition and features two gold-corded open pockets. Insignificant wear and frame darkening in no way detract from this lovely vintage piece.
