Evans Case Co. dates back to the 1930s, but their most collectible bags are fitted clutches and handbags of the 1950s. This bag in back is illustrated on page 238 of Gerson|s "Vintage Vanity Bags & Purses." Their bags feature sculptural latch details and this lovely bone leather clutch is adorned with a substantial scalloped arch the lifts to reveal a flawless navy faille interior with the Evans logo, lipstick and compact pockets on one side and an open pocket labeled "Goldwaters Phoenix, Arizona" on the other. Includes the original $25 price tag, inflation adjusted the quivalent of $$226.20 in 2010 dollars! Minor edge wear (see detail.) Measures 8 x 1 3/4 x 4 1/4".
