This stunning Evans Black Leather fitted handbag carries the regal Evans proprietary latch. The elegantly detailed black satin interior features a complex assemblage of pockets. It has a gold-corded open pocket and a matching black satin change purse, attached to the interior with a safety chain. A tortoise plastic comb with gold trim resides in its own pocket. A very similar bag is illustrated on page 241 of "Vanity Bags and Purses" by Gerson and it|s dated 1947. At that time, the bag cost $60! The gold frame is incised with a herringbone pattern that really sparkles. Excellent condition inside and out. Measures 8 1/2 x 3 x 7 1/2".
