A high style 50|s Dorset Rex bag, with beveled edged black Lucite lid, bottom and sculptural handle. The gold metal frame that attaches through the base plate ends in four metal Feet. The alternating strips of 1" and 1/2" black leather are woven on the frame to form the body of the bag. The gold lift up he latch pierces the black leather tab closure. The body of the bag is fully lined in beige cotton. Its single elastic edge open pocket carries the Dorset Rex 5th Avenue fabric label. The lining shows 2 small pen marks and slight discoloration were the adhesive attaches the lining to the body of the bag. The metal parts are in immaculate condition. It|s a classic! Measures 7 1/2 x 5" at the bottom, 9 1/2 x 6" at the top and 7 3/4" tall.
