Curvaceous 50|s Deco geometric black leather handbag. Constructed of two interlocking cylindrical sections. Leather strap with gold twist-type latch closes the bag. Design patent 170,491 was issued to Sheldon J. Aberman on September 29, 1953 and Lamoplex version of this design was made by Myles Originals in July of 1953. The style was known as "Duet" and is illustrated w in "Carry Me| by Janice Berkson with vintage advertising on page 138 and in Black Pearl on pages 164 & 165. This leather version may have been made by Myles, but there is no verification to date. Double movable strap handles. Fully lined in black cotton. Really unique style. Excellent condition. Measures 8 1/2 x 3 3/4 x 5 3/4". This item was part of the archives of the Bag Lady Emporium, originally in operation from 1996 through 2022 (Inventory ID 990713).
