Spectacular classic Art Deco Rhinestone brooch in clear round and emerald green square stones. The brooch is comprised of two identical dress clips, set into a specially designed pin, a configuration whose best-known maker is CORO. This set carries no maker|s mark, but the "duet pin" carries a 1934 patent number. The patent 1,945,268 was resgitered to John Fielding of North Providence, R.I. and assigned to Joseph P. Whitaker of Apponaug, R.I. January 30, 1934. The unusual design mechanism has the dress clips sliding into the pin from the sides and latching solidly with central pushdown tabs. It|s the height of Art Deco design in flawless condition. This pin is features on page 68 of "Vintage Jewelry" by Caroline Cox. Measures 3 1/4 x 1 1/2". This item was part of the archives of the Bag Lady Emporium, originally in operation from 1996 through 2022 (Inventory ID B00341). It sold for $195.00 in 2013. |
