This interesting bag was too damaged to sell, but deserves documentation for collectors. The outer cotton canvas body is covered by a very fine crochet silk netting. The gold metal frame is embossed with a stylized lotus design. A solid dome top cylinder lift up latch perches between to metal handle tips, holding the fabulous apple juice clear curved oval handle. Sumptuous beige moire| lines the interior, outfitted with the center mounted hinged central coin purse, attached to the hinge pin pivots of the bag frame. A mirror backed in the same moire| is suspended by a 1/2" wide moire| strap that allows the mirror to be positioned for convenient use. The frame is incised with the Jemco diamond mark, but this is the frame maker, not the bag manufacturer. The patent for this frame was filed June 15, 1938 (#2,2258,498.)
